This week we are celebrating the excellent teaching and learning that happens in Catholic schools every day. Running from May 13-19, Catholic Education Week recognises the many amazing reasons that students, staff and families love Catholic schools and what makes these communities so special.
On Wednesday morning, the Hon. Amanda Rishworth MP, Federal Member for Kingston and Minister for Social Services, visited Galilee for Community Prayer. During the event, the Year 1 students led the community in a special Mother's Day prayer to express gratitude for the special women in our lives.
Both students and staff from Marian and Marcellin gathered on Wednesday to pay tribute to the ANZACS and all Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel. Both events were hosted by the Cardijn College Army Cadet Unit, one at each campus. The presence of a special guest graced the Marian service: David McCarthy, a retired Royal Marine Commando, who delivered a solemn and respectful ode.
What a vibrance of colour from Galilee's Sports Day last Friday!
A big shoutout to Marigold for their outstanding sportsmanship, taking home the Spirit Cup this year. Wattle clinched the overall win of the Sports Day Shield and came first in the Whole School Relay Sprint.
Both Marian and Marcellin celebrated Easter Mass at St. Luke's Church this week. This was Marcellin's first visit to the church, marking a momentous occasion in the community's spiritual journey.
Year 9 students and their parents/caregivers recently gathered at Rotary Park (Marian) and Pt Willunga Beach (Galilee) for ‘The Rite Journey Calling Ceremony’. This ceremony marks the first step of the Rite of Passage program for our Year 9 students and signifies the beginning of their journey from childhood to adulthood.
To mark Harmony Week, Ms Oxenham's Year 1 class took a hands-on approach to celebrate diversity by creating this sweet video of Rainbow to present at Community Prayer.
Marcellin and Marian students celebrated International Women's Day (IWD) at the annual Adelaide IWD Breakfast hosted by Senator Penny Wong.
Over the last couple of weeks, all Year 7s enjoyed a camp surrounded by nature at Wirraway Homestead.
The students participated in a range of different activities including low ropes, archery, horse riding, team bonding and games. We are proud of our students for stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing new challenges.
Camp has been a successful way for students to forge new friendships and expand their learning beyond the classroom walls.
Our Catholic Co-Ed Swimming Carnival was a splashing success! Last week at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre, our squad of 17 students represented Cardijn and all swimmers made us proud.
