Faith and spirituality are essential to the life of the College.
Religious education endeavours to make clear the values which are found in the school environment and in all the activities of the school.
We do that by:
At every year level students, from reception to year 12, are involved in weekly Religious Education lessons. Students in all year levels also take part in the College Liturgy Programs where we gather to celebrate the presence of Jesus in our lives.
Students from years 6-12 take part in a retreat/reflection experience varying from one day (Years 6 to 11) to three days (Year 12).
All students are encouraged to engage in activities that show solidarity for people in need. Our ability to demonstrate, ‘love of neighbour’ is key to our identity as Catholics. The College actively supports social justice by fundraising and volunteering for a variety of charities including, Caritas, Fred’s Van, St. Vincent De Paul and Mini Vinnies (Galilee), and Breakfast Club, (Marcellin).
Our active Young Christian Students (YCS) group also provides a platform for students to contribute in our community and beyond, and to address social justice issues.
Our College is also linked closely to the Noarlunga/Seaford Parish and in this way, students are connected to youth programs and Sacramental programs of the Parish.
As educators at Cardijn College, we seek to educate young people and help them find their rightful place as equal members of our society. We work to help our students recognise that they are known and loved by God and in the words of Joseph Cardijn, ‘worth more than all the gold in the world’
