CARDIJN COLLEGE
Extra Curricular
The strength of our community goes beyond the academics and into the all-round development of our students.
Duke of Edinburgh Awards
Cardijn College students over the age of 14 years are encouraged to participate in another of our personal development programs – the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
This international award program has a focus on personal development in skills, knowledge and character. It is a flexible, interesting and fun-packed program that involves a student’s participation in learning a new skill, playing a sport or other activity, involvement in a community service activity and participation in an expedition. It is entirely voluntary and is structured so that the participants can design their own unique program centred on their interests and passions.
The program has three award levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level requires participants to complete four categories: Service, Adventurous Journey, Skill and Physical Recreation.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is an exciting self-development program available to young people, equipping them with life skills to make a difference to themselves, their community and the world.
