Brother Walter Smith Resource Centre

The Marian Campus’ Brother Walter Smith Resource Centre offers excellent facilities to support students in their learning and personal interests. It provides a comfortable and dynamic space for all students who wish to catch up on study, read the latest range of books, graphic novels and magazines, or engage in research.

The Resource Centre provides an outstanding assortment of fiction and non-fiction books, which fosters a love of reading and supplements the broad curriculum offered at Cardijn College. The Resource Centre also offers an extensive range of online resources including audio-visual materials, ebooks and audiobooks, and research databases. Information literacy is a particular focus for all students in the Middle School and is carefully managed by the Resource Centre staff, whilst Senior School students are supported to access higher level research and study skills.

Importantly, the Resource Centre acts as a hub for students to engage in co-curricular activities such as Book Club, Craft Club and Homework Club.
The Resource Centre staff work closely with teachers to develop units of work and ensure that appropriate and new resources are always available. This includes traditional texts, as well as the latest in digital resources, helping to equip students with passion and skills for life-long learning.

A separate Year 12 Study area is also available in the Resource Centre for all Year 12s to utilise.

The Resource Centre is open Monday to Thursday between 8.00am and 5.00pm and Friday until 4.00pm, including all recess and lunch times.
